Let's make a woodblock print!
This popular class is being held at Takezasado by woodblock print craftsmen. The carving woodblocks and the task of making creations using your preferred colors can be enjoy by children as well as adults.
Of course, the colors and designs will be 100% original, by you. After the lesson you can take 5 of your printed postcards and your woodblock back with you, so you can continue having fun at home.

Craftsman's special lesson
In this lesson, you can experiment traditional woodblock printing technique, and our professional craftsman teaches you all process one by one.
The flow of the lesson
Transcribing
Firstly, reverse the design and transcribe each part of it to a wooden plate by using tracing papers or pasting a design copied paper.
Engraving
By using a pointed knife and chisel, engrave the surface of wooden plates around space needed to print.
Mixing colors
Colors and glue are mixed with a brush. They are equally and evenly spread over on the block brushed in the same direction before the colors dry.
Printing
By pressing down on the back of the paper on the block with a baren in a thorough way, the colors will be penetrated into the paper.
Completing
When the colors have been completely absorbed into the paper, it will be quickly stripped off the woodblock.

| Do I have to prepare something to print? |
You need nothing. We prepare all materials and tools. If you want to wear an apron, please bring it yourself. |
